After 12 seasons on Love Island and countless challenges, it's pretty clear that some staples are here to stay like the snog, marry, pie challenge but others are cut before viewers even have a chance to get used to them.
So us being us, we've had a look at some of the challenges that have come and gone...
Baby challenge

Ending during Love Island 2022, the baby challenge was a staple for many years. It consisted of the couples taking care of a fake baby and they'd either pass or fail as 'parents'. This challenge brought viewers iconic moments such as Molly-Mae Hague shouting over the garden ‘Err, Tommy. What the f--k was that?’ after Tommy Fury tossed their 'baby' TJ into the air.
Tweet challenge

This challenge gave Islanders an insight into how they were coming across on TV and it led to some iconic moments. When thousands of tweets from the general public tell you to get out of a couple maybe you should listen but if that doesn't work, then maybe a celeb? During Love Island 2017, the challenge featured a tweet from Stormzy that read ‘Chris you’re too good for her mate’ aimed at Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood.
Headline challenge

During Love Island 2019, the headline challenge consisted of Islanders reading a headline - which had the Islanders names blacked out - and then they had to splash a drink in the face of the contestant they thought the headline was about. The villa was shook when this headline was revealed, ‘Love Island fans accuse India [Reynolds] of only liking Ovie [Soko] to win the £50k cash prize’, as the Islanders wrongly guessed it was about Molly-Mae and Tommy.
Lie detector test

The lie detector test is long gone, last seen in 2018, and it consisted of contestants being asked a series of questions such as ‘Could you be tempted by other girls outside the villa?’ and ‘Are you ready for a long-term relationship?’ If the Islander was tell the truth the room would light up green and if not, red. The best moment of this challenge was definitely when all the Islanders discovered that Jack Fowler was telling the truth about that infamous Georgia Steel kiss.
Chalkboard confession challenge

Last seen in 2023, the knowing me, knowing you challenge - aka a chalkboard compatibility test - was a big loss to Love Island. For a show that strives to find true love you would think that a compatibility test would be kept? Evidently not.
Knowing me, knowing you did, however, bring some unforgettable moments such as Faye Winter and Sharon Gaffka fuming at Hugo Hammond because he said fakeness gives him the 'ick'.
Food challenge

The food challenges were just gross. The Islanders would usually have to pass food or drinks to each other using only their mouths - it was disgusting and it's the only challenge we're happy the producers ditched.
