Well, fast forward to 2025 and it looks as though those Channel 4 producers are hoping to spice things up as the current guys and girls of Kings Road are back in the South Asian state for series 29.
The likes of Jazz Saunders, her American pal Lauren Sintès and resident sunglasses wearer Reza Amiri-Garroussi have all been posting envy-inducing pics featuring turquoise oceans and sandy golden beaches on their social media accounts and we're only mildly jealous.
While they seem to be enjoying the getaway – as is newbie Jack Taylor and his girlfriend Beks Collins – a few familiar faces are noticeably absent.
One person we have a feeling fans will miss is gym bro, Miles Nazaire as the MIC regular is living his best life in Dubai right now – very much NOT The Maldives.
We'll tell you who has returned to Made in Chelsea after a minor hiatus – troublemaker of all troublemakers, Sam Prince.
After splitting from Yasmine Zweegers, both Sam and Yas had a break from reality TV and it looks as though Yas is keeping it that way; Sam, however has joined the MIC cast on their winter holiday.
Taking to Instagram, Sam posted a view from an airplane of the bluest sea we ever did see and tagged Maldives as the location.
Although it looks as though he has since deleted the story, which means we have a million and one questions for the rabble rouser. Not Sam spoiling the surprise he is back on the show.
To be fair, perhaps Miles and his BFF Temps, who we assume is also on the golfing vacation, will rock up a bit later on in the series.

It is only a five hour flight from one location to the other and a cheeky £1,000, which is nothing in the world reality TV. Especially MIC; the cast probably spend that on a night out in Raffles.
