Thanks to Married at First Sight Australia series 11, Love Island: All Stars and now Celebrity Big Brother, it genuinely feels like a lifetime – or at least a few seasons – since Married at First Sight UK 2023 was on our screens.
Saying that, it feels like the cast of MAFS UK have been in our lives FOREVER as they just can't seem to stop trash-talking each other/splitting up from one another/saying things they probably shouldn't say in interviews etc. Obv, we love them for all that though.
We're talking, of course about reality kings and queens like Ella Morgan, JJ Slater, Nathanial Valentino, Georges Berthonneau and Tasha Jay – but basically the whole cast was utter chaos, let's be honest.
One king who made the chaos awkward, however (but in a cute way) was Thomas Kriaras. From badly-timed pecks to calling his own wife a stranger, Thomas made for some awkward AF TV. However, we also got some genuinely lovely moments, and saw him fall in love with Rozz Darlington and open himself up.
Sadly, Thomas and Rozz called it quits in an emotional scene which saw Rozz admit that although she loved him, she couldn't see herself having children with him.
After catching up with Thomas in our offices this week, we can wholeheartedly say that we can see ourselves quitting our jobs and running off to live an awkward happily ever after with this hunk (just no ski resorts, yeah?) because he is the definition of adorable. And a year on from his MAFS wedding we can also confirm that the guns are seriously gunning 💪, so we'll be holding on to those as we gallop off on his noble steed and leave all this behind.
Okay, we're back in the room.
heat sat down with Thomas for an exclusive chat about life after MAFS, a year (almost to the day) on from his marriage to Rozz.
While Thomas was complimentary about his own experience on E4's hit reality series, he admitted it wasn't altogether positive and revealed that producers of the show made sure to air the negative moments when it mattered – which makes sense, as although, yes, it's a social experiment in looking for lifelong love, it's also one of the most dramatic shows on television = paradox.
Opening up to heat, the reality star admitted that "the show brings out the worst in you" and that was, naturally, always going to be shown to the viewers (because us reality telly fans are bloodhounds for drama and misery, let's be honest).
He elaborated adding, "When you’re under the microscope for months, they’re going to show the best and the worst of you, and sometimes they only share the worst."
Nail on the head.
Well, we've met you now, Thomas, and we've got to know you away from cameras and producers and we can safely say that what we see is a real good 'un – who just so happened to put him through one of the most stressful television experiences in the biz.
Awkward never looked so cute – and jacked (did we mention that?).
