Love Island’s Casa Amor: if you come back single you’re a fool

We said what we said

Love island couples

Is that too harsh of a headline or have we caught your attention on how to survive the toughest week in the world of Love Island?

For anyone who is watching series 12 of the dating show, you will be aware that Casa Amor has just hit, which means the next few days we will bear witness to desperate flirting, endless bed swapping and whispers of sweet nothings that will be outed during the, always dramatic, après amor recoupling.

As Harry Cooksley tries to think up another lie to tell a Casa Amor bombshell and Harrison Solomon snogs the face off newcomer Lauren Wood, their partners over in the main villa are deciding whether or not they can trust them.

Hint: they probably can't.

We all know by now the likelihood of Meg Moore straying from Dejon Noel-Williams is practically non-existent, and the idea of Helena Ford NOT patiently waiting for Harry to return at the fire pit is just that; a mere idea.

But my God, we wish we could grab the girlies by their gloriously tanned shoulders and shake some sense into them because with the way Love Island works, you'd be an idiot to leave Casa Amor single.

Obviously, there is an exception to the rule; with Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, for example, we all knew he was going to be waiting for Molly with Ellie Belly, but it's definitely not worth potentially jeopardising your place in the villa.

Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope played the game perfectly; they both recoupled with different people after Casa Amor and therefore didn't risk being dumped. However, as the show went on, they ditched Summer Botwe and Deji Adeniyi, rekindled their romance, made it to the final of Love Island 2022 and are still together now.

The same goes for Tasha Ghouriand Andrew LePage; admittedly, they recently broke up, but that has zilch to do with Casa Amor. Andrew returned hand in hand with Coco Lodge and Tasha brought back Billy Brown, but the former couple ended up back together on the dating show and came in fourth place.

After they left the villa, Tasha and Andrew moved in together, got a dog, but sadly split after three years; still, pretty good going for a Love Island romance.

Nobody wants to risk being booted out of the villa because they have returned from Casa single, hoping their partner has remained loyal. It hasn't happened in a few years, but if we have learned anything from this year's series of Love Island, it's that the producers have thrown the rulebook out the window.

Even if you return with a bombshell and your previous partner doesn't, there is still a high chance the romance will power on.

Ella Thomas rocked up with Ouzy See on her arm and despite his previous actions, Tyrique Hyde stayed loyal to her and remained single. After a few apologies from Ella and chats with the other Islanders, Ty took Ella back and they finished in third place.

Nobody wants to be Georgia 'I'm loyal babe' Steel or Shaughna 'Congrats, hun' Phillips even if they did become internet memes and coin iconic Love Island catchphrases.

Those of you who decide to take part in next year's season of the romance reality TV show, please heed our warning; bring back a partner from Casa Amor, because you'd be an idiot not to.
