The producers for Married At First Sight truly need a pay rise because every series just gets better and better.
From the very first season that only had three couples (and one of the grooms quit), to series eight where most of the cast have left the experiment before the final commitment ceremony - we honestly can't keep up.
Speaking of the latest series of MAFS, there's rumours that outside the show there's been two (yes two) couple swaps so we thought we'd have a look at all the MAFS UK couples who have found love elsewhere...
Ella Morgan and JJ Slater
One of the biggest shocks during series seven was Ella Morgan and JJ Slater recoupling. While Ella and her husband Nathanial Valentino were screaming at each other during their honeymoon, JJ and Bianca Petronzi barely spoke after he pointed out that she wasn't his usual type.
Fast forward to the spa day and JJ and Ella were flirting up a storm and before you knew it, they'd kissed. As a result, Nathanial quit the show and Bianca chose to leave... Then in a shock turn of events, Ella and JJ returned as a couple. Unfortunately it wasn't to last and they split at the final commitment ceremony.
Anthony Poole and Alexis Economou
It was back in 2021 when the first MAFS UK stars recoupled on the show. Anthony Poole was 'married' to Nikita Jasmine and they instantly failed to hit it off. It definitely didn't help that she said to the cameras, 'They’ve just done the total opposite of what I asked for. Looks are a huge thing for me and I don’t think they’ve listened to what I’ve said.'
Nikita was later removed from the experiment following an explosive dinner party. Meanwhile Alexis Economou was 'married' to Jordon Mundell and after constant rows, they called it quits at a commitment ceremony. Shortly after though, Ant and Alexis recoupled but that also didn't last with the bride telling her co-stars, 'For the past two days I’ve slept on the sofa because I don’t want to be in bed with someone who feels they don’t fancy me. I’m not here to make a friendship. We’re sitting here at a table tonight and I feel alone again.'
Matt Pilmoor and Shona Manderson
This was a recoupling we didn't see coming. Shona Manderson was 'married' to Brad Skelly but they were asked to leave the experiment, meanwhile Matt Pilmoor and Adrienne Naylor were coupled up but also failed to make it work. Then, in a shock plot twist, Matt and Adrienne arrived hand in hand at the 2023 reunion episode. A year on, they're still together.
Hannah and Orson
After a blazing row on their honeymoon, it became clear real soon that Hannah Norburn and Stephen Nolson were not going to work. They managed to stay in the experiment for a few weeks but during that time Hannah took a liking to Orson Nurse and Stephen fancied Sionainn Carmichael. Nothing happened between Stephen and Sionainn but at one of the commitment ceremonies it came to light that Hannah and Orson had kissed. Savage. They left the experiment (as well as Orson's 'wife' Richelle Cade) but according to Hannah they were asked to return to the show as a couple.
Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes
MAFS UK 2022 was also a wild series. While Matt Murray was 'married' to Gemma Rose, Whitney Hughes was 'married' to Duka Cavolli but in shocking scenes Matt and Whitney recoupled in secret. It all came to light during an explosive dinner party where Gemma discovered the truth - after the majority of her cast member. To make matters worse, Matt and Whitney recoupled but like the majority of the couples in this list - they didn't last.
SPOILERS AHEAD, FYI
Hannah and Ryan
We know, we know, we said Hannah and Orson had recoupled but before they teased that news on social media, there were reports that Hannah had recoupled with Ryan Livesey. We're still shook about this but they reportedly return to the show together during the reunion episode.
Arthur and Amy
Okay so technically this one doesn't count but we still wanted to include it. So it turns out that MAFS series seven's Arthur Poremba dated Amy Victoria Kenyon before her 2024 stint. He's since spoken out about their fling and we doubt there's any hard feelings, she didn't even know Luke Debono at the time and Arthur and Laura Jayne Vaughan had split.
